Six researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy receive funding from the Kidney Foundation

The Kidney Fund distributes a total of SEK 6.1 million in this year’s call, where six researchers in Gothenburg share SEK 750,000. Kerstin Ebefors receives SEK 150,000 to study the role of IgA receptors in the inflammatory response to IgA nephritis. Jana Ekberg receives SEK 150,000 to carry out a five-year follow-up of kidney transplant patients without steroids. Åsa Norén receives SEK 100,000 to study renal impairment in liver transplantation. Jenny Nyström receives SEK 150,000 for her research on diabetic kidney disease mechanisms. John Söfteland receives SEK 100,000 for regsiter linking studies on covid-19 in kidney transplant recipients. YiYi Xu receives SEK 100,000 to study whether exposure to both metals and air pollutants means more kidney toxicity.
