Agneta Holmäng takes over as project owner for the Swedish National Sports University (RIU)

The connection between science and sports is an area that Dean Agneta Holmäng holds dearly. She has therefore agreed to take over the assignment as the University of Gothenburg’s project owner for the Swedish Sports University (RIU). Among other things, it provides the opportunity for active elite athletes to combine their training and competitions with a higher education. As a project owner, Agneta Holmäng is chairman of the steering group and has the task of supporting the project manager in the daily work, in interaction with the city, the region and the the sports movement. Until July 31, 2022, RIU is a joint venture between the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. The universities will thereafter form separate, but interacting, RIU’s.
