COVID-19. The government announced yesterday that government employees should, if possible, work from home until February 14. This is to slow the spread of omikron.
At the end of December last year, the government gave a stronger mandate to the state authorities to ensure that employees, who were able to, could work from home. The mandate was extended until January 27, and will last until February 14. The previous closing date was January 31.
This means that the University of Gothenburg will make it possible for employees to work from home to the extent permitted by the organization and that only those who must be present should be.
In a press release, Minister for Public Administration, Ida Karkiainen says that workplaces are one of the largest sources of the spread of the infection and that working from home is an important part of the government’s overall measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
“The government has been clear that the state authorities will lead the way here. At the same time, it is important that the authorities can carry out their activities and continue to provide services to citizens throughout the country,” says Ida Karkiainen.
Probably two more weeks of restrictions
Due to the high spread of omikron, the government announced yesterday that the pandemic measures introduced in December and January need to remain in place for another two weeks.
At present, the Public Health Agency of Sweden believes that it is then possible to start a gradual phasing out of the restrictions.
