Sahlgrenska Life consists of three buildings, one on each side of Per Dubbsgatan and a third one to connect them. [Click to enlarge image.]

Sahlgrenska Life – science and healthcare of the future

THE DETAILED PLAN IS NOW READY FOR DECISION BY THE CITY COUNCIL

“Detaljplan för vård och forskning vid Per Dubbsgatan inom stadsdelen Änggården” (The detailed plan for care and research close to Per Dubbsgatan in the Änggården area), as it is named in the municipal administration, was approved by the municipal board last week and will be brought up for decision in the municipal council on 9 December. The implementation of Sahlgrenska Life is dependent on a positive decision in this respect.

EBM – renovation with care

A detailed study of the needs and two feasibility studies regarding the premises at EBM have been carried out. The Faculty Board has subsequently decided on:

  • A careful rebuilding of EBM’s premises
  • To investigate the possibility of collaboration and shared facilities with AstraZeneca

Extensions or major renovations are not in scope as it would have too great a negative impact on the operation and be too costly.

A reference group is connected to the work, where e.g. users and the insitutes at Sahlgrenska Academy are involved.

Decisions on programs and financing are expected in the spring of 2022.

Natrium construction site December 2021 – facade work to be completed during the period.

Natrium – new premises for the Faculty of Science

AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE

The first snow is here and the roads are difficult to access. The staff do all they can to ensure deliveries to the construction site to avoid delays.

Sun protection has begun to be installed in the window sections. It will work automatically depending on the sun radiation.

The roof of house part 1 is completed.

Facade work on building 2 has started and will be completed before Christmas. In building 2, a temporary construction lift will be installed on the facade for both materials and workers.

Roofing over the atrium will be started beginning of new year.

The project wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Where Natrium connects to Medicinarelängan, a new restaurant is underway and tiles are already in place.

IN MEDICINARELÄNGAN

Window replacements are underway in the new entrance on Medicinaregatan 7B. Painting is in progress and flooring as well.

On the lower level, work will start on cold rooms during the period.
