Akademiliv congratulates Jahangir A. M. Khan, who is now a professor of health economics. He researches the development of universal health coverage (UHC) in different countries, ie society’s ability to provide access to the health services they need, with sufficient quality, and at an affordable price, to all residents (SDG objective 3.8). To achieve this goal, the collection of revenue for healthcare in the society, and its efficient and fair use is crucial. Jahangir Khan’s research includes, among other things, health care financing, health insurance, expenditure due to health disasters and its effects on poverty, as well as financial evaluation of health interventions. The research is based on health economics theories and relevant empirical studies.
