Three of this year’s four recipients of research funding from the Gelin Foundation are active at Sahlgrenska Academy. Together, they receive a total of SEK 500 000 from the foundation. Of the projects, two are about organ transplants and covid-19, and while the third is part of a larger project about donating kidneys from heart-dead donors. John Söfteland receives SEK 200,000 for his project on covid-19 in kidney transplant recipients, and Seema Baid-Agrawal receives SEK 150,000 for her project on Treatment of chronic antibody-mediated rejection in kidney transplant recipients. Doctoral student Deepti Antony also receives SEK 150,000 for a project on necroptosis and ferroptosis in uDCD organs.
