Biobank Väst offers smooth and cost-effective DNA extraction for customers who saved blood in the biobank for genetic analyzes, primarily for research studies in Region Västra Götaland. Biobank Väst has set up an automated process to make it as safe and standardized as possible while providing high quality of extracted DNA. At present, the biobank performs extraction from whole blood (500 μl, 1.3 ml and 4 ml) and from Buffy Coat. The DNA extraction includes concentration determination with spectrophotometer. Biobank Väst also performs, if requests exist; Aliquot of any blood residues for continued storage, normalization to determined concentration and dispensing to selected format.
