Instruction: Gradual return to campus from September 29

21 September, 2021

VICE-CHANCELLOR’S DECISION. The pandemic has now entered a new phase and on September 29 the government will lift most restrictions. The university can therefore continue the gradual return to a mainly campus-based activity.

In order to clarify how the return to campus-based activities will take place, Vice-Chancellor Eva Wiberg decided on Monday, September 20, on a revised instruction.

  • Here you can read the Vice-Chancellor’s decision (in Swedish only): Reviderad anvisning om tillämpning av rektors inriktningsbeslut (GU 2020/2832) gällande universitetets verksamhet med anledning av Coronapandemin för höstterminen 2021.

There will be a continued escalation of physical presence for both students and staff. The planning conditions and the needs of the operations look different within the university, which means that it will look different for different people.

Escalation of physical presence in the workplace

The general recommendation to work from home if possible, as well as the special assignment for government employees to work from home if possible, disappears. The principal’s decision states that the return to physical presence at the workplace takes place as follows:

  • September 29 – October 31, a return to physical presence at the workplace begins. During the period, continued homework is permitted, provided that it works with regard to the operation’s needs and conditions. Manager decides.
  • From 1 November to 31 December, there will be a further escalation of physical presence at the workplace. The manager decides in accordance with the operation’s needs and conditions.
  • From 1 January 2022, the return to regular attendance at the workplace is planned to be fully implemented.

Stay home for symptoms

Everyone should continue to pay attention to the symptoms of covid-19. Anyone who suspects that they may be infected should stay home, avoid contact with other people and get tested. The employer must facilitate homework when employees who have symptoms or are waiting for test results.

Unvaccinated people should continue to be careful

Det allmänna rådet att hålla avstånd och undvika trängsel försvinner för vaccinerade den 29 september. Ovaccinerade vuxna bör även fortsättningsvis hålla avstånd till andra människor.

For those of you who have not had time to start vaccination

According to the Public Health Agency of Sweden, a high level of vaccination coverage is the most important prerequisite for society to be able to return to a normal situation. Vaccination is free for everyone, and you do not need a Swedish social security number to be vaccinated.

To get the best possible protection, both shots must be taken. Those who received their first dose in another region can receive their second dose in the Västra Götaland region. Employees may be vaccinated during working hours.

You who have not yet had time to get vaccinated can apply for appointments at 1177 Vårdguiden / Västra Götaland (in Swedish): Here’s how to get vaccinated against covid-19.

Until September 29

Until 29 September, the general guidelines and recommendations as well as the restrictions decided by the government still apply. Read more about what applies until 29 September here (in Swedish): National general guidelines and recommendations for reducing the spread of covid-19 and (in Swedish) the Government’s plan for the abolition of restrictions.
