The aim is to provide younger researchers with the opportunity to achieve qualifications leading to the establishment of independent research. Applications may be submitted for a grant for full-time or half-time studies. Half-time grants are intended for applicants whose ordinary posts involve clinical practice.
Eligible to apply are persons who have been awarded a PhD in a preclinical or clinical medical discipline or in a subject area closely related to medicine no more than three years before the end of the application period and no later than 31 January 2022. Applicants must have documented research activities in Sweden for at least one year and must intend to conduct their future research in Sweden.
The amount of the grant is SEK 1 000,000 per year for full-time and SEK 700,000 per year for half-time, combined with 50% clinical practice. In addition, a person who carries out the first two years of the full-time post-doctoral studies abroad is qualified for a return grant of SEK 500,000 to be used for operational costs during the third year. For applicants who choose to carry out their post-doctoral studies abroad, there is an option to choose a personal, tax-free scholarship instead of salary during the first two years of the support. The amount is then SEK 300,000 per year and applies only to full-time studies.
The application period runs from October 15 to November 15, 2021.
