AgeCap researcher Boo Johansson, senior professor of psychology at the University of Gothenburg, is this year’s recipient of the major gerontology award. He receives the award because he has contributed to Swedish gerontological research being put on the world map, partly by initiating and running large research projects, including the twin project Octo twin, which has achieved great success internationally, and partly for his great commitment to disseminating Swedish research. The prize has been awarded annually since 2003 by the Swedish Gerontological Society, SGS, to people who have played a prominent role in the field of the elderly and aging.
