The award “PhD Thesis of the Year at the Sahlgrenska Academy” has been awarded since 2009 and is funded by a donation from Dr Amt Vestby’s Research Foundation. The award for PhD Thesis of the Year 2020 is given to Kristian Axelsson’s dissertation “Aspects of fracture prevention – The role of fracture liaison services and alendronate”, on osteoporosis and fracture prevention. Akademiliv will return shortly with a longer article. For the institutes, the prize winners are Martina Sansone (biomedicine), Nicklas Oscarsson (clinical sciences), Angela Molainaro (medicine), Ibrahim Kaya (neuroscience and physiology), Lisa Svensson (odontology) and Ramona Schenell (health and care sciences).
