Researcher and surgeon Roger Olofsson Bagge receives $ 75,000 in a prestigious grant from the world’s largest organization for cancer research, the American Association for Cancer Research AACR. The study could lead to the world’s first effective treatment for a very aggressive, but rare form of cancer. It is a long-term follow-up study of an advanced treatment for the cancerous eye melanoma with liver metastases. The treatment involves decoupling the patient’s liver and rinsing it with large amounts of cytotoxic drugs. Roger Olofsson Bagge is an associate professor at the Institute of Clinical Sciences and leads a research group affiliated with the Wallenberg Center for Molecular and Translational Medicine (WCMTM).
