When the Sjöberg Foundation recently distributed research grants in the area of difficult-to-treat cancer with a poor prognosis, three of the total of nine grants funded went to projects at Sahlgrenska Academy and Sahlgrenska University Hospital. Jonas Nilsson receives SEK 5 million for his project on CAR-T cell treatment for treatment-resistant skin and uveal melanoma. Göran Stenman receives SEK 3 million for the development of a new targeted treatment for patients with the therapy-resistant and deadly cancer form adenoid cystic cancer. Karin Sundfeldt receives SEK 4 million for the development of a screening tool for ovarian cancer that greatly may reduce mortality from the disease.
