On Monday, November 16, the Swedish Government announced stricter restrictions to prevent the spread of covid-19, which aaffects the university. Work is underway to produce a revised policy decision, which commenced on Tuesday at an extra management council, which discussed how the government’s intention to limit public gatherings to eight people affects the activities.
“The announcement from the government has consequences for us even if large parts of our activities aren’t public gatherings. Work is now underway to produce a revised decision. We expect it to be ready on Thursday,” says Vice-Chancellor Eva Wiberg.
The management council consists of the Vice-chancellor, University management, Deans, University director, Chief librarian and the President of the University of Gothenburg’s student unions.
