At its meeting on October 19, the board of the University of Gothenburg supported the project Sahlgrenska Life to go ahead, but points out the importance of considering the consequences for the economy. The decision was based on the report Life Science at the University of Gothenburg and in the Region Västra Götaland, made by Professor Harriet Wallberg, former Vice-Chancellor of Karolinska Institutet, and carried out on behalf of Vice-Chancellor Eva Wiberg. The report, which was presented on September 5, states that the University of Gothenburg, together with the Region Västra Götaland, the University Hospital and the business community, have good opportunities to develop operations in life science.
