CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION. Akademiliv provides an overview of the construction project Natrium, the new premises for the Faculty of science, and reconstruction work in Medicinarelängan. In regards of the spread of COVID-19, there is currently no impact on the progress of the projects, but University of Gothenburg and Akademiska Hus are closely monitoring developments and are making adjustments as needed. WEEK 23, June 1– 5.
Natrium
The project organisation have now moved into their new office on Medicinaregatan 16.
On the construction site, the casting that started last week is proceeding with the new culvert from the EBM media central. To support these activities, the crane will be used more frequently.
The blasting work in week 23 focuses on the area close to Medicinarelängan. The outloading continues at the same pace with four trucks using gate 2 for entry and exit. Some reinforcement work will be done to the rock wall.
Inside Medicinarelängan the demolition of ceiling and interior walls proceeds.
Blasting in the week will take place Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30 with reserve time at 15.00 on the same days.
In the coming months, blastings will continue Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12.30 with reserve time at 15.00 but after the summer, each blast will be less extensive with a smaller volume of rocks to be outloaded. Going forward, disturbances such as noise and vibrations can occur but continue to be largely dependent on how close you are. Blasting is estimated to be finalised by end of October.
WEEK 24, June 8 – 12.

The casting continues with focus on the floor of the culvert.
During Monday and Tuesday, the team focuses on the area close to Medicinarelängan and in the rest of the week in the center of the construction site, where a pump room needs to be prepared for. In all, there will be three blasts for this purpose.
In Medicinarelängan, demolition continues and in parallel, four electricians are working with dismantling the current electricity installations.
Blasting in the week will take place Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30 with reserve time at 15.00 on the same days.
WEEK 25, June 15 – 19.

In week 25, the casting work continues by the culvert and rock is removed both from the area close to Medicinarelängan and in the centre.
Blasting in the week will take place in the area close to Medicinarelängan Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30 with reserve time at 15.00 on the same days.
