Construction information Medicinareberget: Waste containers remain outside Medicinarelängan

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION. Akademiliv provides an overview of the construction project Natrium, the new premises for the Faculty of science, and reconstruction work in Medicinarelängan and surrounding area. In regards of the spread of covid-19, there is currently no impact on the progress of the projects, but developments can change quickly. The University of Gothenburg and Akademiska Hus are closely monitoring developments and are making adjustments as needed. WEEK 19, May 4 – 8.

 

Lundberg laboratory – reconstruction on the second floor

The reconstruction on the second floor is close to be finalized. The final inspection that was planned for last week has been rescheduled to next week.

The waste containers on the walkway between the Lundberg laboratory and Medicinaregatan 7B will remain there also during the demolition work inside Medicinarelängan.

Outside Occupational and Environmental Medicine, work continues to put the portcabins in place for the project office.  When all modules in this phase are in place, installations such as sewage remains to be completed.

On the construction site, drilling, blasting and outloading continues at the regular pace.

Blasting in week 19 will take place Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30 with reserve time at 15.00. The Tuesday blast in week 19 takes place in an area between the EBM media central and Medicinarelängan while the Thursday blast takes place in the centre of the area. (Illustration)

Inside gate 1, preparations are in progress for the coming foundation work for the building. Additional containers will be put in place.

WEEK 20, May 11 – 15.

 

Lundberg laboratory – reconstruction on the second floor

The reconstruction on the second floor is close to finalization. The final inspection will take place during this week.

The waste containers on the walkway between the Lundberg laboratory and Medicinaregatan 7B will remain there also during the demolition work inside Medicinarelängan.

Inside Medicinarelängan, demolition work is now starting. Initially, the contractor starts with taking down the ceiling to enable inspection of current installations.

The work on the new project office proceeds in week 20, with activities in the interior, such as carpeting and furnishing.

Blasting in the week will take place Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30 with reserve time at 15.00 on the same days. The Tuesday blast will take place near the rock wall while the Thursday blast will take place in the center of the area close to Medicinarelängan.

 

WEEK 21, May 18 – 22.

Furnishing of the project office continues in week 21.

In Medicinarelängan, demolition of ceiling and interior walls continues.

On the construction site, blasting on Tuesday will take place close to Medicinarelängan at 12.30 with reserve time at 15.00. No blasting on Thursday due to the national holiday.

 

 

 

WARNING SIGNALS AT BLASTING. Before and during blasting the area will be blocked off by guards and you will hear a warning signal. Information signs with contact information will also be put up in concerned areas.
