We’ve had an intensive three weeks since the University of Gothenburg made the decision to switch over to distance education. I hope you have begun to establish routines that make your work easier as we face this new reality, even if many of you are now working from home. Perhaps those of you researching will have the opportunity to use this period to write articles and have your results published, but don’t forget that it is also important to plan time for virtual fika meetings with your research colleagues.
I know that many course coordinators are still putting in long hours to ensure all aspects of the teaching will work well, and our overriding focus is on ensuring our last semester students will be able to graduate as planned. The university is now attempting to gain a clearer grasp of staffing at different levels for the coming period. At Sahlgrenska Academy, we want to ensure that we have both continuity and access to the skilled staff we need as our work is impacted by the spread of the virus in society. To this end, every institute has been asked to conduct an inventory for submission in the coming week.
We have a well-needed long weekend ahead of us. I wish you all a lovely Easter and that you are all well and can get some rest.
