Part of VR grants can be used for research on COVID-19

In order to gain quick knowledge, the Swedish Research Council has decided to provide a limited opportunity to use research funding for research related to SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, regardless of which project idea was initially granted. If you have an ongoing grant it gives you the opportunity to use your funds for such research for a shorter period of time. This possibility does not include grants for research infrastructure. The idea is that researchers don’t have to write new applications or review other researchers’ applications, since the quality review previously made applies. VR also plans for targeted calls in the area.
