At a press conference on Friday afternoon, Matilda Ernkrans, Minister of Higher Education, announced that Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test SweSAT will be canceled. This is an extraordinary measure that has never been taken before, but the responsible authority UHR believes it is necessary, as the risk of infection would be too great if the 70,000 registered participants carried out the test at 120 locations on April 4 as planned. Authorities and the government will analyze how the effects of the missing the SweSAT can be mitigated in the autumn round of admission, for example by broadening the selection basis for grades.
