WORK ENVIRONMENT On February 3, all employees at the University of Gothenburg will receive an email with a personal link to the new work environment survey known as ARK. An English version is also available. It is important that as many employees as possible respond to the survey since it provides important data for the university’s efforts to improve the work environment for you and your colleagues.
The abbreviation ARK stands for its Norwegian title Arbeidsmiljø- og arbeidsklimaundersøkelser. This tool is part of the university’s systematic efforts to promote good health and an inspiring work environment that creates the necessary good conditions for the pursuit of research and education.
Email from ntnu.no
The four largest Norwegian universities are behind ARK. A link to the survey will be sent on February 3 from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. Remember that the email with the link comes from the ntnu.no domain so don’t confuse it with spam.
Compared to the previous work environment barometer, the ARK survey is much shorter in length. It is focused on the psychosocial and organizational work environment. The survey takes about 20 minutes to complete. You will receive the link on February 3, and the survey will close for responses on February 21. Two reminders will be sent to recipients who have not responded to the survey.
A difference with ARK is that the local organizations will gain access to the results much faster. They will receive a report in the form of diagrams in just a few weeks. During the survey meetings, you and your colleagues will discuss and reflect on what working conditions at your workplace are important to maintain and what aspects need to be improved to support a good working environment.
Respond yes to questions about consent
One of the final questions in the survey asks you to consent to the information in the survey being used by your institute and your university, and that the information can be included in the large research project that is ongoing at the Norwegian universities responsible for ARK. It is important that you consent to the survey at your institution if you want your answers to be able to impact the work environment efforts at your workplace.
If you have questions about how ARK will be implemented at your workplace, contact your health and safety representative, your ARK guide or your immediate supervisor.
