BUILDING INFORMATION. Akademiliv provides an overview of the construction activities that may affect you at during the next few weeks at different places on Medicinareberget, not only where blasting takes place. Rebuilding of replacement premises may continue to cause disturbing noise. A new project is underway, where office pavilions are being prepared at Medicinaregatan 14, as replacement premises for parts of the Institute of Biomedicine. WEEK 3, January 13– 17.
Medicinaregatan 14 – replacement premises for parts of the Institute of Biomedicine
Due to the new construction for the Faculty of Science, preparations for replacement premises for parts of the Institute of Biomedicine has been initiated.
An operating office formerly used by Akademiska Hus will therefore be renovated during winter/spring of 2020. An additional module will also be moved from the Faculty of Humanities to Medicinareberget for increased office space.
Preparatory ground work will be carried out between January 7 and 27 during which period the parking space will be closed (marked in green) The ground work might cause disturbing noise during daytime. The module from the Faculty of Humanities will be moved on January 30-31. For this activity, all parking spaces on Medicinaregatan 14 will be closed.

Medicinarelängan lower floor – replacement premises for CCI
Reconstruction is ongoing in order to prepare for docking the new building for the Faculty of Science and to provide temporary premises for Center for Cellular Imaging, CCI, who will move from 7A to Medicinaregatan 5. The work means disturbing noise particularily during hours stated below. This reconstruction work is estimated to be ready by end of January, 2020. Hours in week 3 with increased noise disturbances:
- Jan 13 Mon 07:00-09:00, 13:00-14:00
- Jan 14 Tue 07:00-09:00, 13:00-14:00
- Jan 15 Wed 07:00-09:00
- Jan 16 Thu 07:00-08:00
- Jan 17 Fri 07:00-09:00, 13:00-14:00

Modules at Lundberg Laboratory
Modules have been put up on the parking lot outside Lundberg laboratory. They are a part of the solution for replacement premises for the functions that need to move out from Medicinarelängan.
The current work has come far and focuses currently on installations and the interior along with the construction of a passage connecting the modules with the building.
New premises for the Faculty of Science
The blasting on level four that started last week continues. Starting from the corner close to EBM, the contractors work their way in the direction toward Nya Forsken.
The outloading is resumed and four trucks will be in operation in this week, using the south gate as entry and exit route.
Also the reinforcement work on the rock wall next to the facade of the new building continues.
In week 3, blasting will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12.30, with reserve times at 15.00 on the same days.

There will be an inspection end of January and preliminary date of occupancy is mid-February.

New premises for the Faculty of Science
The blasting and preparatory activities such as clearing the surface and drilling continues on level four.
As in the previous week, the team works from EBM toward the center of the area.
4 500 tons of rock is loaded during the week in transported away to be crushed and re-used for new purposes.
In week 4, blasting will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12.30, with reserve times at 15.00 on the same days.
