Information from Akademiska Hus about Naturvetenskap Life

7 October, 2019

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION. Below is information related to the construction project Naturvetenskap Life. Construction activities are now occupying several of the normal parking spaces, but there is usually spaces available in the parking garage at the Rättsmedicin at Medicinaregatan 18C.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION WEEK 41
October 7 – 11

  • Drilling and blasting continues on level three. (illustration)
  • On Medicinaregatan, between the allotments and the hill, the work on removing the rock is finalised. Outloading of rock material and removal of security barriers follows.
  • The outloading on the hill is primarily located on the half closest to Nya Forsken. The dumpers used for the outloading will this week and the two following weeks enter through the north gate whereas exiting will take place through both gates. This arrangement is due to the reinforcement of the rock wall, a work that requires space and effects the internal logistics at the work site as such.
  • Blasting takes place Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30, with 15.00 both days as reserve time in cases needed.
  • Along with drilling and blasting, there is work on lighting and forging work carried out as preparation for the winter season.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION WEEK 42
October 14 – 18

  • Drilling and blasting continues on level three. (illustration)
  • On the rock wall there will be crosses painted in pink. They are a result of the geologist’s work on investigating the cracks. At each cross long bolts are mounted after drilling. This work continues for several weeks onwards.
  • Apart from the regular blasting on Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30 with reserve time at 15.00 both days the reserve time on Thursday at 15.00, Thursday October 17 will be used for deviding some large rocks to enable outloading.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION WEEK 43
October 21 – 25

  • Drilling and blasting continues on level three. (illustration)
  • The third level goes down to the same level as the EBM yard or the ground level outside Nya Forsken. Level four, where blasting will start end of the year, will make room for the cellar of the new building.
  • This week, one blastings will be carried out close to the facade of Nya Forsken. This means no increased risks. The construction site management is however emphasizing the importance of following the regular police guidelines to not be close to the windows during blasting. These are generic guidelines at all blasting activities and not specific for this construction site.
  • Blasting will take place Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30 as usual with reserve times at 15.00 both days.

The period during weeks 41-43 continues blasting on pallet 3, which is also the pallet with the largest volume.
