REXEARCH COMMUNICATION. Are you a researcher and want to join in the Science Festival 2020? Then it’s high time to plan your participation. Deadline to submit your programme idea is 1 November.
Just like previous years, the Science Festival has an overall theme. This year it is “Movement”.
“The movement theme can embrace for example freedom and equality movements, hacker and DIY movements, climate, punk, tectonics, Brownian motion, space travels, dancing and parkour. It’s very much about change through movement. The perspective is hopeful, just as our stylistic theme Solarpunk, where technology and biology meet in harmony. The Festival wants to create a democratic arena that inspires to new studies, new science and cross-boundary knowledge exchange,” says Jasmine Isdrake, creative director at the Science Festival.
How will the Festival change next year?
“We want more young people to participate and have therefore made the application process easier on our website. We want to make it easier to navigate the programme and the festival scenes, and we are therefore focusing the activities to a more specific festival area. We will have a closing night in the public programme, and we will increase the opportunities for researchers to network during the festival,” says Jasmine Isdrake, creative director at the Science Festival.
Any tips on how to organise a programme activity at the festival?
“It should be inspiring and easy for the public to partake in the activity. Interactivity and artistic expressions are most welcome. It’s also important that there is a scientific connection and broad representation in panels, talks and other activities.
