Information from Akademiska Hus about Naturvetenskap Life

20 May, 2019

Below you can find information from Akademiska Hus about the construction project Naturvetenskap Life. New information bi-weekly. On Thursday, May 30, the blast will not be due to the Ascension Day, but Thursday, June 6, blasting will take place as planned, although this is the National Day.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION WEEK 21
May  20 – 24

Last week’s Safety week event was a constructive activity for the team in order to discuss how safety work can be improved even more. At a work site, which is constantly transforming, it is vital to revisit safety procedures as new risks adds on.

As previously informed, an additional blast will take place on Thursday this week. Large rocks will be split in parts for the outloading. This blast will happen on Thursday 15.00 but will cause no vibration, only noise. The 12.30 blasts on Tuesday and Thursday will take place as usual.

Along the slope near Nya Forsken there will be extended timber barriers put up as protection. The fence with the net will be kept to maintain a safe exit in case of evacuation from the site.

The excavator will be busy preparing the road next to Nya Forsken, when not engaged in the blasting.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION WEEK 22
May 27  – 31

Note that the Thursday blast is cancelled due to the Ascension day.

In the coming week there will be a concrete platform put up for the new gate that will be put up close to the goods reception. More rimber barriers will be put up as protection toward Nya Forsken.

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION WEEK 23
June 3 – 7

Both two regular blasts will take place even though Thursday is a national holiday.

As in week 21, an additional blast will happen on Thursday to split some large rocks. This means that as soon as the regular blast is completed the rubber mats will be moved to the next spot for the 15.00 blast.

Moreover, a preparation work is started at the EBM media center. A new staircase will be installed on the short side facing EBM. This is to replace the existing staircase that will be taken down to make room for a new substation for the Naturvetenskap Life project.

During the blasting events, the affected areas will be blocked off by  guards and the warning signal will sound as shown below. Affected areas will also be indicated by information and contact details.

Vid sprängtillfällena kommer berörda områden att spärras av med sprängvakt och varningssihgnal kommer att ljuda enligt bild nedan. Berörda områden kommer även att skyltas med information och kontaktuppgifter.
