APPOINTMENT. The other night, during the live TV-gala ‘Together Against Cancer’ in TV4, Ruth Plmers was appointed Cancer Researcher of the Year by the Cancer Foundation’s research board. Ruth Palmer, Professor of Molecular Cell Biology at Sahlgrenska Academy aims to find new treatment methods for neuroblastoma, a cancer that primarily affects children.
The TV-gala Tillsammans mot cancer (‘Together Against Cancer’) was broadcasted live nationwide on Monday, January 7, 2019. During the gala, a video allowed the viewers into Ruth’s home, and also to the research group’s laboratory at Medicinareberget.
In her brief live speech, Ruth Palmer thanked all the people that donate money to the Cancer Foundation:
– I am very grateful. Your gifts are very important for our group’s and others in Sweden, so that we can continue our research to improve the treatment against cancer, she said, among other things, as she had received her diploma from the Cancer Fund’s Research Board Chairman Klas Kärre.
