CONSTRUCTION. Below is information related to the Naturvetenskap Life construction project.
Information from ÅF-Infrastructure, which is responsible equipment issues:
Meetings are primarily planned with the various departments before the inspection and muffling of equipment. The inspection has begun, and we have installed vibration meters at Experimental Biomedicine (EBM).
Information from Skanska:
Week 48
- All week, transport of rock materials continues for road construction from the parking area below EBM up to the hill.
- Toward the end of the week, we will begin again to clear away trees and brush on the hill. This work involves cutting down trees using chainsaws.
- On Wed–Fri site huts for personnel to be set up behind Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Week 49
- Clearing away of trees and brush continues. At the beginning of the week, forest machinery will transport felled trees that will then be chipped and removed.
- The excavator continues work up on the hill. This involves clearing the hill of grass and earth.
- We begin installing a more permanent fence around the work area. The temporary fence visible below from the road will be dismantled after the new one is erected.
- Demolition of the cooling center in the EBM yard and demolition of the adjoining culvert begins. The exercise yard will stay at its current location, and demolition work will stop during activity hours for exercise. The building will be torn down in pieces and transported away afterwards. This means an increase in the number of transports across the EBM yard during weeks 49–51, but this will not impede the organization’s regular logistics through the gate. To alert pedestrians and vehicles driving into the yard, extra signs will be installed at the entrance.
Week 50
- Continued removal of grass and dirt on the hill using an excavator.
- Removal of trees and brush when opportunities arise for using forest machinery to remove debris.
- Work on enclosure of the construction area continues.
Week 51
- Continued removal of grass and dirt on the hill using an excavator.
- Removal of trees and brush when opportunities arise for using forest machinery to remove debris.
- Work on enclosure of the construction area continues.
