RESEARCH. Thanks to a private donation, young researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy can now apply for funding for access to Core Facilities. SEK 250,000 will be distributed yearly among as most five fellows, to be used on any of six research platforms. The application period has just opened – deadline is April 30, 2018.
The scholarship offers the opportunity to get access to the knowledge and use of platforms for the techniques bioinfomatics, proteomics, advanced microscopy, cell culture and protein expression or the animal research facility (EBM). The call is aimed at young researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy – either a PhD student or a newly researcher that has recently defended his or her thesis (maximum five years since the dissertation).
SEK 250,000 will be announced annually – funds that will be distributed among as most five applicants. Application and assessment of applications are made by the Faculty’s Core Facilities Council. The applications will be assessed by a group of scientifically competent, impartial scientists. One and the same project will be able to receive the scholarship at most three times.
Application is made on a special application form. Decisions on allocation are taken by the Core Facilities Council on the recommendation of the expert group’s overall assessments.
