AWARDS. Each year, thousands of state employees the award “For zealous and devoted service to the state”. This means that a person who has been employed for a period of 30 years or at least 25 years at retirement will be rewarded and honored with a gift from the employer. This year, 55 employees were honored at the University of Gothenburg, seven of whom are employed at the Sahlgrenska Academy.
The award was awarded on Thursday at Vasaparken at the University of Gothenburg. Rector Eva Wiberg spoke and the employees received their gifts. Then it was buffeted. Students from the College of Stage and Music invited world music and entertained both during the ceremony and at the reception after.
The gold medal For zealous and devoted service to the state with King Carl XVI Gustaf’s portrait in profile is the most commonly distributed reward medal in Sweden.
