BUILD PLANS. Three departments within the Faculty of Science want to gather in a new building on Medicinareberget – which in this case becomes the first step in the effort to gather life sciences at the university. The building’s intended location is on the eastern slope of Medicinareberget, next to Medicinarelängan.
The purpose of the Pre-Study Medicinareberget is to develop a proposal for a new construction for life sciences. The Pre-Study has been commissioned by the Faculty of Science, in consultation with the Sahlgrenska Academy. The three departments wishing to gather at Medicinareberget are:
- Department of Biology and Environmental Sciences
- Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology
- Department of Marine Sciences
The Pre-Study was presented at an information meeting on May 11 by Elisabet Ahlberg, Dean, Faculty of Science, Eric Hanse, Pro-Dean, Sahlgrenska Academy, Mårten Tiselius, Real Estate Strategist, Real Estate Unit and Pontus Isaksson, Real Estate Director, Akademiska hus. Members of the Steering and Project Group also participated.
The Pre-Study includes several studies on the basic conditions for the project, and now forms the basis for the university’s decision to proceed with the proposal to construct the proposed building.
