General Academy Meeting (held in Swedish) – Kjell Asplund: The borderland between clinical research and medical care. Lessons from the Macchiarini case.

Welcome to the second General Academy Meeting, in a series focusing on ‘Ethics in the Academy’

Invited guest is Kjell Asplund, who is Chair of The Swedish National Council on Medical Ethics (Smer) since 2012. Kjell Asplund is Professor Emeritus of Medicine at Umeå University, and has previously served as Director General of the National Board of health and Welfare.

Kjell Asplund starts with a lecture (in Swedish) entitled “The borderland between clinical research and medical care. Lessons from the Macchiarini case.”

We offer a lunch sandwich – first come first served.

After the lecture the audience is invited to participate in an open discussion on how the boundaries between research, medical care and clinical innovation can be clarified.
