ACADEMIC POSTS. A total of 28 people have been awarded one of the ALF posts that Hälso-sam has recently advertised at three levels, with thirteen qualified doctors currently undertaking postgraduate education being awarded ALF posts at doctorate level, eleven doctors currently defending their theses being awarded ALF posts for qualified doctors with doctorates in medicine, and four specialist doctors with readerships being awarded Higher clinical ALF posts.
ALF posts for qualified doctors at doctorate level make it possible to combine postgraduate education with a clinical posting, part-time, for a two-year period, after which point it is possible to extend the posts for a further two years; a new application has to be submitted and approved for this to happen, however. The posts pay part-time salaries.
