UPDATE DECEMBER 27: Robert Brummer, Professor at Örebro University, has decided to withdraw his intrest in the position of Dean at Sahlgrenska Academy. Thereby six candidtes now remain, all currently employed at the Sahlgrenska Academy.
ELECTION OF NEW DEAN. The advisory group has now completed the first round of interviews with the candidates for the position of dean at Sahlgrenska Academy. Of the interviewees, there are six candidates remaining, all currently employed at the Sahlgrenska Academy.
The following persons have been interviewed and are the remaining candidates for the position of dean at the Sahlgrenska Academy.
- Håkan Billig, Professor of Cellular Aging and Apoptosis. Employed with the department of physiology, the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology.
- Kristina Eriksson, Professor of Viral Immunopathogenesis. Employed at the department of rheumatology and inflammation research at the Institute of Medicine.
- Agneta Holmäng, Professor of Laboratory Medicine. Head of the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology.
- Christina Jern, Professor of Neurology with a focus on vascular illnesses and vascular genetics. Employed at the department of pathology and genetics at the Institute of Biomedicine. Vice dean for ALF issues (Medical Training and Research Contracts).
- Göran Landberg, Professor of Pathology with focus on molecular tumor pathology. Employed at the department of pathology and genetics at the Institute of Biomedicine. Director of the Wallenberg Centre of Molecular and Translational Medicine at the University of Gothenburg.
- Peter Naredi, Professor of Surgery. Head of the Institute of Clinical Sciences
“We have started creating a shortlist and will continue working on it after the holidays. Then we will start working on the proposals for the position of vice dean. This is difficult and delicate work that we take very seriously and which requires time,” says Göran Stenman.
In accordance with the charge from the faculty board at the Sahlgrenska Academy, the recommendations of the advisory group will consist of one candidate for the position of dean and one candidate for the position of vice dean. The employees at the faculty will be able to consider the group’s proposal during an advisory election, after which the university chancellor will formally appoint the new dean and vice dean of the Sahlgrenska Academy.
