NEW MISSION. In order to develop its operations and tie it closer to teachers, programs and program managers, the Institute of Health and Care Sciences has appointed a Head of Department for the Clinical Training Center (KTC). It’s Lena Oxelmark, who is a senior lecturer at the institute combined with the position as a nurse at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, who has management experience from the healthcare sector.
Currently, Lena Oxelmark as is Chairman of the Committee for Inter-Professional Learning at the Sahlgrenska Academy. At the Clinical Training Centre (KTC) at the Sahlgrenska Academy, students from different programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels get the opportunity to train practical skills and develop clinical skills. At KTC students from different programs are offered the opportunity to work individually or together in order to learn to see both their own and others’ competence and responsibility, and to see the importance of teamwork and collaboration between different professionals to the patient’s health, welfare and safety.
