ELECTION. At its meeting on June 7, the University Board decided on a profile of demands for the new Vice-Chancellor and allocation of representatives in the consultative body. The appointment of the current Vice-Chancellor Pam Fredman ends on 10 June 2017.
“The board unanimously agreed on the profile of demands for the new Vice-Chancellor. This means that the students and staff members in the recruitment committee have done an excellent job in the preparatory work”, says Cecilia Schedin Seidegård, chair of the University Board.

The University Board has also taken a decision on allocation of representatives and rules for appointment of the consultative body. The consultative body will consist of 70 representatives: 30 teacher representatives, 20 other staff member representatives and 20 student representatives.
The consultative body has an advisory function and will form an opinion about the candidates suggested for Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor presented by the recruitment committee. The consultative body’s opinions will then be handed over to the University Board.
The last day to apply for the position as Vice-Chancellor at the University of Gothenburg is 15 September 2016.
