BIOBANKING. Starting this fall the Sahlgrenska biobank at Östra Hospital begins to offer both manual and automated sample handling, which includes centrifuging, decanting, aliquoting and sample storage in low temperature freezers with alarm.
All samples that are handled via the Sahlgrenska biobank at Östra Hospital is marked with a bar code or alternatively a QR code to protect the integrity of the individual, while the traceability of each biobank samples is ensured. As a competence center within biobanking issues, Sahlgrenska biobank can also provide advice and views on content related to biobanking ethics application, consent forms and sample donor information.
