University of Gothenburg has introduced the title Excellent Teacher as a way to draw attention to teacher’s pedagogic skills in line with Vision 2020. Last year, when the title was introduced, five excellent teachers were appointed at Sahlgrenska Academy. A new application period is now open.
Teachers who are permanently employed at the university can apply to be tried for the title. At Sahlgrenska Academy teachers are alos required to have a PhD in order to be tried for the title. The evaluations are conducted on the basis of the applicant’s documented and reflected pedagogical practice and based on university-wide assessment criteria. The title of Excellent Teacher is included in the salary criteria and should be addressed at salary negotiation.
The application period 2016 opened on April 1, and deadline for applications is May 15. At the Sahlgrenska Academy, the preperations and assessments of the applications are conducted by the Docentship Committee.
