MANAGEMENT ASSIGNMENT. The Dean have now appointed Sahlgrenska Academy’s Operative Project Group, that will, among other things, propose structures for future quality assurance. The task has been assigned to Kristin Falk, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, and Frode Slinde, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Internal Medicine and Clinical Nutrition. In addition, Eva Ronström, Head of the Educations Department at Sahlgrenska Academy’s office, has been appointed as Project Manager of the Project Group.
Swedish higher education is on the crux of a major change, which means the educational institutes will be responsible for the continuous quality assurance of their curricula. This involves all parts, from enrollment to graduation.
The Project Group will conduct the initial internal mapping of tasks that are necessary for future follow-up and development work so that programs and courses can reach their goals as stated in the Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). The Group will conduct an external evaluation. The Project Group will propose content, organization, systems and governing policies for future quality control of education at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Sahlgrenska Academy, in accordance with directives from the University of Gothenburg and the Swedish Higher Education Authority. The Group will continuously report to the Academy’s Board and the Education Council.
For Kristin Falk and Frode Slinde, the Faculty’s Operative Project Group assignment is for 25 percent of full time. Project Manager Eva Ronström is the Head of the Educations Department at Sahlgrenska Academy’s office. She will continue to work half-time with the Operative Project Group during the time it takes to recruit an Acting Head of the Educations Department; whereas from September 1, 2016 through December 31, 2017 she will focus entirely on the new assignment.
