INTERACTION. As Gothia Forum for Clinical Research enters its seventh year, Lars Ny takes over the assignment as operations manager from January 1, 2016. It is part of the effort to promote clinical research in Region Västra Götaland.
– Lars has extensive experience in clinical research both in academia, medicine and industry, and therefore his preconditions to lead the Gothia Forum into the next phase are excellent, says Lars Grip, R & E Director and Deputy Hospital Director, Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
Most recently, Lars Ny has been assigned as Medical Director of the Clinical Trial Unit within Oncology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. He has a background as a clinical pharmacologist and oncologist. He is also an associate professor and visiting lecturer at the Sahlgrenska Academy and was during a period a research physician at AstraZeneca.
– Gothia Forum has established itself as an important engine in the clinical research conducted at Sahlgrenska and in the region. I look really forward to working with our employees in continuing the development of this operation in a clear patient perspective, and with enhanced interaction with academia and industry, says Lars New.
Gothia Forum is a unit with in Region Västra Götaland which has the mission to strengthen clinical research in Västra Götaland and thus contribute to better care and treatment of patients and to regional and national growth in the Life Science area. Gothia Forum is, since 2015, also commissioned to serve as a regional hub for clinical research in western health region and therefore part of a national coordination system for clinical studies.
With in Gothia Forum there are five units: Research Support Office (RSO),Sahlgrenska biobank (SaB), Clinical Trial Center (CTC), Primary care Trial Center (PTC), Verksamhetsutveckling, administration och strategiskt stöd.
