RECRUITMENT. Wallenberg Centre of Molecular and Translational Medicine (WCMTM) at University of Gothenburg now starts recruiting international, outstanding young researchers for positions as Assistant Professor.
In the first call, up to three positions in translational neuroscience and metabolic diseases will be announced.
This newly established center was founded in cooperation with the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, Region Västra Götaland, AstraZeneca and the University of Gothenburg. The center is part of a national effort in Sweden to regain its global leadership position in medical research.
An advertisement in international journals are also conducted, together with Lund University, Umeå University and Linköping University.
“The initiative is coordinated with the universities of Lund, Linköping and Umeå and we have decided to make an extra wide call, hoping to disseminate knowledge about the initiative and to reach international talents in molecular medical research”, says Göran Landberg, Director of the Wallenberg Center for Molecular medicine at University of Gothenburg.
This is also in line with the KAW foundation’s intentions for this major investment in Life Science in Sweden.
The aim is to create an opportunity for the researchers employed to develop into leading, independent researcher in strong academic environments with unique links to clinical practice and pharmaceutical industry.
