RESEARCHER SERVICE. All inter library loans of articles are now free of charge for employees at Göteborg University. Akademiliv had a quick talk with Karin Emanuelsson and Magnus Holmberg, librarians at the Biomedical library.
What is the big advantage with this change?
We want to simplify for employees at University of Gothenburg to get access to relevant literature for their research. For example, it’s not reasonable that research students skip articles relevant for their thesis just because they are too expensive to order. Now you can just place your order in the web form and get your article as hard copy sent for free to your department.
How long does it take to get the ordered article?
It depends. Often just in a couple of days.
