The latest intermediary round of ALF grants were awarded to 25 scientists who focus on clinical research.
Turgut Tatlisumak, a Professor of Neurology who was recruited only recently. obtained the largest grant – a total of SEK 4 million for the next two years.
“This grant is vital to my ability to put together an effective team,” Professor Tatlisumak says. “The first order of business is to hire a research nurse.”
The 25 researchers represent 26% of the total applicants – 46 women (10 approved) and 51 men (15 approved). The Medi-SAM program will submit proposals for promoting the careers of young scientists, particularly women, so that they will eventually receive a larger piece of the pie.
