Jonas Nilsson wins Young Fernström Prize

Jonas Nilsson, a research leader at Sahlgrenska Cancer Center, is a recipient of this year’s Eric K. Fernström Prize for highly gifted and successful young researchers.

According to the explanatory memorandum, Jonas Nilsson has made important studies of genes involved in cancer development and has identified potential targets for drug development. Jonas Nilsson himself would like to share this award with his wife, Lisa Nilsson, who also is a researcher in the group and who made great contributions in the research that is being rewarded with the Young Fernström Prize.

The Award Committee at the Sahlgrenska Academy consists of Olle Larkö (chair), Jan-Erik Damber, Claes Gustafsson, Kristina Malmgren, Annika Rosengren, Björn Rydevik and Pierre Åman.
