Emile Bienvenu, a doctoral student in pharmacology from Rwanda, is studying the inpact of HIV therapy in patients co-infected with tuberculosis.
He is the first doctoral student from Rwanda to present his thesis at the Sahlgrenska academy. The thesis is defended on December 18, 2013.
Emile Bienvenu collected all supporting data for his thesis in Rwanda.
– We have made great efforts in the country in recent years to reduce HIV infection. Now the percentage of infected is less than three percent of the population, which is low compared to other countries in Africa, says Emile Bienvenu.
