The Swedish Higher Education Authority’s annual report, 2013: Universities are becoming increasingly more research heavy
A clear trend that emerges in the Annual Report 2013 is that the balance between research and teaching is changing. In 2012 was the revenues for education and training were SEK 26 billion, a decline of 2.4 percent. Research revenues grew by 2.7 percent to SEK 35 billion. At the same time beginner students at undergraduate and graduate levels decreased by 13 percent compared with the previous year. For postgraduate programshave the opposite development – number of entrants has increased almost every year since 2008.
