She will advise the EU President on science, technology and innovation. She will identify future opportunities and threats, and build relationships with advisors worldwide. And she will raise EU citizens’ confidence in the research. The Swedish Research Council’s Journal Curie has met Professor Anne Glover – EU:s first Chief Scientific Adviser.
Anne Glover doesn’t have to think long about what task is most difficult.
– To present the scientific evidence that will form the basis for policy decisions. If all 27 EU Member States don’t want to adopt the same policy they often claim that the scientific evidence is insufficient. Sometimes they are right, but in other cases, the evidence is quite sufficient. They have other reasons to be opposed.
