Academicum Gave the Niclas Sahlgren Network a Warm Welcome

About 60 leaders and managers from business, academia and the care sector met this week on ‘Medical Mountain’ in Gothenburg for discussions, mingling and dinner. The event marked the revival of the network Niclas Sahlgrens Vänner.

Olle Larkö: ‘Let young physicians do research’

It’s a common belief that new physicians are not interested in doing research, but that’s not true, writes Olle Larkö. The truth is that if we can provide the right conditions, they will be very positive to it. The issue will be addressed at Medi-SAM ‘s open meeting at SU tomorrow, Thursday 7 November.

Performance-based, Direct Government Funding for Research (Fakultetsanslag) to Be Scaled Back

From now on, the performance-based component of the direct funding that Sahlgrenska Academy’s institutes receives from the national government will be used for strategic initiatives at the faculty level. The change was revealed in the faculty’s budget for the coming year, as set by the Academy Board.

Olle Larkö: ‘Our reforms can affect others’

“We must include Sahlgrenska University Hospital when we implement larger-scale changes,” writes Dean Olle Larkö in a column. He also affirms that the new focus assigned to the hospital during the year in which Barbro Fridén has been its director benefits the Sahlgrenska Academy.
