The Wallenberg Clinical Fellow program aims to stimulate Swedish doctors’ clinical research and to identify tomorrow’s research leaders in a clinical setting.
The Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation awards between one and three Wallenberg Clinical Fellows each year. Applicants must hold a Phd, achieved not more than ten years ago, and be active in a clinic at a Swedish hospital or work within the Swedish primary care and have a research connection to a Swedish university.
The grant includes funding for a research service up to 80 percent of full-time for three years, and funding to cover direct costs for the research work up to SEK 700,000 per year. The foundation does not finance any indirect costs. This requires co-financing, and an application must therefore be supported by the head of institute and / or operations manager.
The Research and Innovation Office (FIK) provides customary support during the application process, if possible given other assignments.
