Sahlgrenska Academy has decided to appoint Thomas Carlsson as a new academy joint director of studies for postgraduate education, a mission that includes overall management and implementation of postgraduate education, as well as management of doctoral students’ work environment problems. Thomas Carlsson is an associate professor of pharmacology at the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, and conducts experimental research on, among other things, Parkinson’s disease. He succeeds Mia Ericson who has applied for dismissal. Khalil Helou remains the other academy joint director of studies for postgraduate education at Sahlgrenska Academy.
