Inger Ekman, Professor of Nursing and former Director of the Center for Person-Centered Care (GPCC) has been awarded the Swedish Nursing Association’s Nursing and Value Award in 2019. The prize is SEK 100,000. She receives the award for her great contribution to an awareness of person-centered care, which is about seeing the patient as a fellow human being and a person in need, but also as a person with resources, opportunities and experiences. According to the motivation, in her research, she has worked tirelessly and successfully for a person-centered care, based on relationship ethics and the equal value of all people.
